Childcare
assistance programmes aid recruitment and retention and increase staff’s job
satisfaction, according to research by Industrial Relations Services.
The
survey finds 57 per cent of employers believe their staff retention has been
improved by such things as nursery subsidies, childcare vouchers and associated
advisory services.
More
than a third of employers believe that providing staff with childcare
assistance boosts recruitment and 14 per cent believe that this reduces
absenteeism.
The
study also reveals that respondents believe child care assistance programmes
can also improve firms’ reputations and increase employee morale and
satisfaction.
