Competition for talent ensures IT salaries rise

IT
sales salaries have increased by 8 per cent over the past 12 months.

Research
conducted by Mandeville Recruitment Group shows the average IT sales salary in
2001 was £34,218.75. This years it is £37,090.

However,
while salaries have increased, the rate of increase has declined from the
previous year when it was 20 per cent.

Holliday, general manager of Mandeville Sales, said: "The survey reflects
the fact that employers are still looking at the critical skills and realising
they have to pay people with those skills higher salaries otherwise they will
lose them to their competitors."
