Innovative public sector consultancy Organisation Development Services (ODS) has won its first pan-European contract – to support new research into improving the care of cancer patients.
The consultancy will support a three-year project, co-ordinated by the Marie Curie Palliative Care Institute Liverpool (MCPCIL) and funded by the EU 7th Framework Programme – the EU’s main programme of research.
The project will see UK palliative care clinicians and researchers working with experts from Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Slovenia, Italy, New Zealand and Argentina to explore current best practice and identify knowledge gaps in caring for cancer patients in their last days of life. .
The project is a major programme within the MCPCIL portfolio; ODS’ role will be to measure the effectiveness of the collaborative working between the different teams and to highlight recommendations for future projects, to ensure best practice.
