A
council chief executive was sacked yesterday for bullying.
Sari
Conway, who attempted to resign hours before the announcement, was dismissed by
Eastbourne Borough Council for gross misconduct.
An
internal report accused her of having a destructive and aggressive management
style, which could reduce colleagues to tears.
Conway
was suspended on full pay for a year before yesterday’s decision.
The
council claims that the proceedings have cost them £162,000.
