Employers
can calculate how much sickness absence is costing them, thanks to the Health
& Safety Executive.
The
HSE website gives employers information on the price of sickness absence, which
is estimated to cost the UK £6.5bn per year.
Employers
can use one of three calculators to estimate the cost of health and safety-related
absence to their business.
“We
are committed to doing everything we can to raise awareness of these issues and
the business benefits to be gained from good health and safety management with
employers,” said Richard Daniels, head of section C – training and inspection –
at the HSE.
“The
in-built calculator provides employers with a handy way of working out costs
sop that they can see for themselves what they might be losing.”
