A
formal qualification in body-piercing and tattooing may be launched next year.
A
vocational certificate covering the basics of body art and piercing and an
advanced diploma are proposed.
The
new course could start in January if the proposals are accredited by the exams
watchdog, the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.
The
certificates and diplomas will be administered and regulated by the Vocational
Training Charitable Trust, which was set up in 1962 to provide qualifications
in beauty therapy.
