UK
employers are to receive advice from the Department of Trade and Industry on
the benefits of flexible working and how to improve their work-life balance.
The
DTI has published two booklets on the issue, from its Work-Life Balance Campaign,
which include case studies of successful companies which have benefited from
introducing flexible working.
"Balancing
the demands of work and life can improve business competitiveness and encourage
individuals to perform to their potential in the workplace," employment
relations minister Alan Johnson said.
"These
guides are free to all businesses and individuals in the UK and I hope they
will demonstrate the benefits of flexible working – there has never been a
better time to consider what you can do to make a difference."
