EDF Energy and HMRC win equality awards

EDF Energy and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC, pictured above) walked away with the top prizes for their equality and inclusion practices at the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (enei) Awards on 17 July 2013.

Receiving the Overall Winner award in the private and public sectors respectively, the two organisations celebrated their achievements at the Law Society in London alongside 18 other winners, listed below.

Awards were presented in 21 categories, with winners having to demonstrate a clear response to a specific challenge, definitive and measurable outcomes and evidence of significant impact. The awards celebrated those with a commitment to good practice above and beyond legal compliance and innovative approaches that will inspire other employers. A further 13 organisations were highly commended for their activities.

Denise Keating, chief executive of enei, said: “We have been encouraged and moved by the steps these organisations have taken to promote equality and diversity and hope this will encourage other companies to follow their lead.”
