Employers sell travel insurance to raise cash

Employers feeling the pinch can bring in some extra income by selling travel insurance to their staff.

Sunworld Staff Scheme travel insurance, backed by AXA, offers employers the chance to win commission on any policies sold through their company intranet.

The employer stands to gain up to 17.5% commission on every sale made this way. Alternatively, they can offer their staff a 17.5% discount off high street rates.

The travel insurance can also be offered to staff via payroll, in which case their employer would not be entitled to commission.

The scheme is offered by Better for Everyone in partnership with underwriting agency David Oliver Associates.
