Employers told to harness the power of integration

An international HR consultancy is urging employers to harness the potential offered by individuals with disabilities.

Maurice Phillips, regional director of Coutts London, said that Coutts’ training consultants will work with the charity Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities.

He said, “We will explain to employers how they can accommodate and support a person with a disability to work.

“Some organisations have grasped the idea of a diverse workforce in order to reduce discrimination, but few have moved on to harness the power of integration. For some it is a response to legal requirements – but it should be about building a better workplace and therefore achieving better business.”
