Employers’ association the European Study Group (ESG) is offering training to plug the knowledge gap surrounding the information and consultation regulations.
A recent study by the ESG showed that two-thirds of HR professionals have a limited awareness of the regulations and 48% of organisations are failing to train those who will be responsible for facilitating the information and consultation arrangements.
John Boyd, managing director of the ESG, said: “Employers must be ready to act to ensure that all staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to create informed two-way communication throughout the organisation.”
The association will deliver training by telephone, in work-shops and one-to-one briefings. Self service e-learning and web training is also being developed.
The DTI is mailing companies across the UK to increase awareness of the new regulations, affecting organisations with 150 or more employees.
