Europe is top for quality of living

• Vancouver, Zurich, Vienna and Bern are the cities with the best standard
of living in the world, a survey by consultants William M Mercer has concluded.

Sydney, Geneva, Copenhagen, Auckland, Amsterdam and Helsinki complete the
top 10 in the study, which evaluated 39 quality of living factors. New York was
used as the base city, with a score of 100. London ranked joint 34th because of
poor transport.
