The first recruitment website designed specifically for union members has
been set up by banking and finance union Unifi.
The system allows candidates to apply directly online, using standard or
customised electronic application forms, and within 24 hours of its launch, had
attracted more than 100 candidate registrations.
Unifi spokeswoman Dai Davies said that currently there are less promotion
opportunities appearing within companies, prompting the union’s members to look
elsewhere for employment.
She said the system allows employers to compare and manipulate candidate
data, leading to faster and more accurate recruitment.
A joint venture with e-recruitment company the Internet Corporation, Unifi
hopes the site – unifi4jobs.com – will create a de facto community for finance
workers and prospective employers.

Davies said: "Unifi is taking the lead in what we believe will be the
pattern for all industries."
