Rail
workers at First North Western have voted six-to-one to stage three 48-hour
strikes next month.
The
Rail Maritime and Transport union said workers have rejected a 3.5 per cent pay
offer, and will walk out on August 5-6, 12-13 and 23-24.
RMT
general secretary Bob Crow said: "The offer is an insult to our members’
hard work and loyalty.
"Our
members have shown tremendous solidarity and are ready to put their anger at
the company into action.
"This
huge vote for action is a measure of just how far the current derisory offer is
from meeting our members’ expectations."
