Stonewall received a record 317 entries from employers this year, up from 136 in the inaugural survey in 2005.
Stonewall chief executive of Stonewall Ben Summerskill said: “The index is a powerful tool used by many of the 1.7 million gay people in the UK workplace to decide where to take their talent, skills and experience. “It is also used by lesbian, gay and bisexual consumers in deciding where to spend their disposable income. And 150,000 gay students studying at UK universities refer to it when deciding where to pursue their careers.”
