The
Government has accepted that more needs to be done to advance the business case
for age diversity in the workplace.
In
a response to a report on age discrimination in employment by the education and
employment committee the Department for Education and Employment admits that
further work is needed in spite of higher awareness of the issue among
employers.
The
DfEE aims to advance the business case by supporting the work of the
Inter-Ministerial Group for Older People and by targeting employers and sectors
through trade press articles and advertising, employer awards and other
initiatives.
