E-business Great Plains is buying software company PWA Group in a bid to
become the dominant HR software supplier.
The deal, to be confirmed by early March, will also boost the HR product
range.
PWA head of marketing Kellie Ann Williams said the deal would allow the
company to take on the likes of Rebus, Cyborg and MDIS.
"We want to be bigger than players like Rebus. We want to be the
dominant player in Britain and Europe."
PWA software is used by more than 1,200 UK companies. The deal is also
expected to create increase staff levels from 120 to 150.
"The current thinking is that there are more jobs than there are
people. No one is losing their job."
Great Plains will acquire PWA through the issue of common shares and $9.5m
cash.
