Almost three-quarters of HR professionals believe HR directors don’t deserve
their large salaries, according to a Personnel-Today.com poll.
The online survey asked if HR directors are worth their average annual pay
packet of £217,570, as revealed in research by consultants Towers Perrin.
Only a quarter of the 100 or so respondents feel the huge salaries are
warranted.

However, Nick Page, rewards adviser at the CIPD, believes the take home pay
for HR directors is much lower.
"When you ask if people deserve a large amount of money it is rare that
others will agree. In reality it is based on opinion, not an understanding of
what the job entails," he said.
