HSBC
bank plans to cut nearly 3,000 jobs in addition to the transfer of 4,000 jobs
to overseas locations announced only eight months ago. Another 550 roles are to
be shipped abroad.
Unifi,
the financial services arm of Unison, has condemned what it calls ‘a savage
jobs cull’.

Union
official Rob O’Neill, said: "Unifi is furious with this latest round of
job cuts. This amounts to almost 15 per cent of the workforce and is terrible
news for staff and customers.”
