The
Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has joined the police and other authorities
to launch a new code for investigating work-related deaths.
Two
further organisations have been added the investigation team, with the British
Transport Police and the Local Government Association joining the Crown
Prosecution Service, Association of Chief Police Officers and the HSE.
When
someone dies in a work-related incident, these organisations will work together
to ensure the death is investigated fully.
The
revised protocol for investigating deaths at work sets out principles for
effective liaison and communication between all the agencies.
