The
Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has launched a new website to advise managers
and staff working in the healthcare sector.
Employers,
safety representatives, health professionals and members of the public will
find guidance on health and safety in the sector an information on how the HSE,
as an independent regulator for health and safety, does its job.
Visitors
to the site will also have access to video clips, case studies and the
2003-2004 programme of work as well as guidance on many of the current issues
in healthcare safety.
The
healthcare sector is one of eight priority programmes set by the Health and
Safety Commission.
Priority
programme manager Murray Devine said the aim was for the site to become the
prime source of up-to-date information on health and safety in the healthcare
sector.
The
website will cover the NHS and independent healthcare providers and will start
with new information on workplace violence.
