Fewer candidates are coming forward to join dotcoms following stock market fluctuations and the collapse and merging of several high-profile Internet businesses.

Market uncertainties have reduced the appeal of the dotcom world, according to Josh Sparks, global head of e-business development at recruitment firm Robert Walters. “Although candidates continue to be attracted by the informal and entrepreneurial environment, dotcom employment is now seen as carrying greater risk.”
