Barclays is to lose 750 jobs following the announcement that
it is to close its life insurance division.
Existing insurance and pensions policies will be honoured
but new business will be diverted to Legal & General.
From April Barclays will begin selling Legal & General
plans in favour of its own in what the bank called a “groundbreaking” alliance.
The 750 jobs will be lost within the next two years.
