Major April conference on older worker employment issues

Hands-on experience of managing older workers and preparing for sweeping changes in retirement law, from HBOS, Sainsbury’s and a major NHS Health Trust, will be shared and discussed at a one day London conference on 13 April.

A distinguished employment lawyer and senior HR experts will review the rapidly approaching abolition of age discrimination in employment and training, through the EU Employment Directive, next year.

Optimising the contribution of workers who stay on will receive special attention.

The YKPconferences event, in Westminster in April, will be open to HR executives, senior line managers, pensions professionals and employee representatives from public, private and voluntary sectors.

Reducing recruitment costs and obtaining a balanced workforce will feature in a full HBOS case study given by a development manager from the bank.

With a workforce from 16 to 75 years of age, the success of an NHS Health Trust in dropping the mandatory retirement age and adopting flexible retirement will be reviewed in a case study of the Trusts 2000 staff by a senior personnel manager.
