Manufacturing pay awards on the up

UK
manufacturing pay awards are showing signs of improvement.

The
median value of pay awards now stands at 3 per cent, compared with 2.75 per
cent over the same period in 2003, according to a report released today by
Personnel Today’s sister magazine IRS Employment Review.

Sectoral
differences persist, with settlements in the food, drink and tobacco industry
outstripping those in paper and printing.
