Mobile app to take centre stage when Cascade visits Softworld

by Personnel Today 19 Sep 2011
by Personnel Today 19 Sep 2011

Hot on the heels of a successful launch at the HR Software Show in June, Cascade’s innovative new mobile app will take centre stage at Softworld’s HR & Payroll Solutions event at ExCel London next month.

Designed to provide the optimum environment in which to investigate the best HR and payroll systems in the marketplace, Softworld will allow Cascade to guide delegates through the new smart phone technology, via a large plasma screen.

This most recent innovation is dedicated to making day-to-day HR and payroll-related processes ever quicker and more efficient, and will offer utmost ease of use when it comes to self service. Now users can book holidays, check their payslips or monitor outstanding HR tasks wherever they may be, therefore making the most efficient use of their time.

Cascade’s software development director Dan Edwards commented: “Whilst we have over 300 satisfied clients, we don’t rest on our laurels. On the contrary, we’re dedicated to creating systems and functionality that offer clients an unparalleled level of opportunity.

“We’d been talking about the concept of a mobile app for HR and payroll for many years. Acknowledging the growing importance of mobile technology and the boundaries it can overcome, we began turning this idea into a reality in Autumn 2010. Following a successful pilot in early 2011, and the first revelation of the technology in June, the response has been phenomenal.

“Many prospective clients have been looking for something like this in the marketplace, and were delighted that we’d had the technological foresight to develop the innovation. Other companies hadn’t even considered the value of a mobile app for HR, but our understanding of client needs meant that we spotted the opportunity for them.

An Ofcom report in August 2011 highlighted that nearly one in three adults now uses a smartphone.  The rocketing popularity of this mobile technology means that more and more people want to – and can – access information and the internet on the go. Dan continued: “Whilst I’m not suggesting that employees are going to spend every hour of the day completing HR tasks with our mobile app, it is important that employers engage with staff via the most relevant routes available.”

Whilst Cascade is incredibly proud of the technology it has developed over the years, the company is equally renowned for offering an unparalleled level of customer support.

Dan continued: “80% of our team is employed to provide services relevant to clients after the software purchase, therefore allowing us to continually deliver on the promises that we make long after initial implementation. It’s this that helps us stand out from the crowd, and it’s this that will hopefully shine through when people come to meet us next month on stand HR229.”
