Around
300 Wembley Stadium workers staged an unofficial picket yesterday following a
host of sackings last week.
The
contracts of 210 on-site steelworkers were cancelled on Friday, after
contractor Multiplex claimed they had made “unacceptable, additional demands”
on top of previous deals.
John
Connor, a spokesman for the protesting group, told the Daily Mirror: “We’ll be
here as long as it takes – we just want to work.”

GMB and Amicus unions have requested talks with Multiplex.
