Medium-sized businesses will lead recruitment activity going into 2006, according to a new report. Research by recruitment consultancy Manpower shows that medium-sized employers are the most likely to hire in the run-up to Christmas, with about 15% intending to increase their headcount. Receive the Personnel Today Direct e-newsletter every Wednesday The Employment Outlook Survey of 2,140 businesses also shows that 10% of small and 11% of large-sized businesses plan a seasonal increase their staff numbers. Mark Cahill, managing director of Manpower, said the job market is still healthy enough that employees are happy to move around and employers are willing to replace them.
