Learners
within the NHS are dispelling a myth about e-learning.
Drop-out
rates are often cited as one of the reasons for e-learning’s failure, but the
NHS e-Tutor blended training programme, commissioned by the NHS Information
Authority (NHSIA), has achieved a completion rate of 93.8 per cent and average
learner satisfaction ratings of 5.95 out of six.
“Since
the project’s inception, 91 learners have completed the programme and have
qualified as e-tutors,” said Carol Hulm, ECDL service manager and NHSIA project
manager.
