John Athanasiou has been promoted to head of HR at Warner Music UK. He has
worked at the company since 1999, starting as an HR adviser and, most recently,
senior HR manager. His previous roles include regional HR officer for the
Dixons Group.
Abigail Thomas has joined Hay Group, the global management consultancy, as
HR director. Her role is to develop and implement the HR strategy for the
group, incorporating recruitment and reten-tion, talent management, total
reward, internal branding and development programmes for the senior team.
Thomas joins from Accenture, where she was human perfor-mance manager for five
years.

Land Securities has announced the promotion of Robbie Wheeler to the
position of HR director for the group. For the past five years, Wheeler was the
HR director for Land Securities Trillium, the property-outsourcing arm of Land
Securities. In her role, she will be taking on the responsibility for a
newly-integrated Land Securities group HR function.
Wigan Council has appointed three new recruits to its chief executive’s
department. Sharon Adams has joined as its new training and development
manager. Steve Gow is the new recruitment manager, and Wendy Irwin has joined
as the council’s first policy officer for equality and diversity issues.
