The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has appointed Mark Haysom as chief
executive. He replaces John Harwood who retires at the end of the month. Haysom
spent three years at the LSC, and was instrumental in establishing it as a
skills delivery body. He previously spent 11 years at the Trinity Mirror Group,
and was its managing director of national newspapers for the last three years
of his tenure.
The Co-operative group has appointed Richard Bide as its new HR director. He
joins as an executive member of the group, and will be responsible for
developing HR strategy. The organisation employs more than 70,000 staff and
operates in many sectors, including food, retail, and financial services. Bide
joins from Centrica, where he was HR director. Prior to this, he held senior HR
roles at ICI and Tate & Lyle.

Janvier Hyde is the new director of HR for Leicestershire Constabulary. She
joins from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, where she was HR manager.
Hyde is now responsible for managing HR for all uniformed and plain clothes
officers in the force, and has also been charged with promoting management of
change for the Police Reform Agenda.
Hagemeyer UK, the distributor of products and services in
business-to-business markets has appointed Damian Holt as regional HR manager.
He will be responsible for operational HR issues across the South East,
including manpower planning, performance management and staff development. He
joins from World Duty Free, where he was HR manager of Logistics.
