Elizabeth Latham joins mental health trust
Despite being a native Southerner, working mother Elizabeth Latham has spent
most of her career in what she readily describes as "the frozen
North", and is still struggling to adapt to the lower temperatures after
several years.
She is now acclimatising to the most northerly English county after joining
the board of Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland Mental Health NHS
Trust.
She took up the post of HR director, earlier this month, from the South
Durham Health Care NHS Trust where she was head of personnel. She has worked in
the NHS for most of her career and relishes the challenge of improving working
conditions.
"I’m looking forward to meeting the challenges in this relatively new
trust. I hope that in the HR department we can help the organisation by
improving working life for all the people who work here," she says.
"We’re trying to integrate lots of different organisations into one trust
that will deliver a first class service to the people of the North East."
