Performance dismissals: myths busted in 60 minutes

Many employers believe that dismissing an employee for poor performance is a complicated and technical task that risks an employment tribunal claim.

In a free, myth-busting Personnel Today webinar on 17 October, employment law trainer Darren Newman sets out a practical three-step approach to performance management that is fair, lawful and commercially sensible.

Newman will guide employers through:

  • defining clear performance standards for the employee to achieve;
  • giving the employee a reasonable opportunity to improve; and
  • where the employee fails to improve, implementing a fair performance dismissal procedure.

He also explains how employers can raise the issue of a compromise agreement without giving the employee grounds for an unfair dismissal claim and how employers should address poor performance in older employees.

This 60-minute webinar will leave employers feeling confident about managing poor performance following the fair process that Newman sets out.
