The Government has launched a series of proposals to clear up widespread
confusion around UK pensions and help employees make more informed choices
about their future.
Work and pensions secretary Andrew Smith unveiled the plans, ‘Simplicity,
security and choice: Informed choices for working and saving’, which were
developed following the 2002 Pensions Green Paper.
"Decisions about retirement are among the most important we face. We
are given a lot of information on pensions, but too often we don’t understand
how it relates to our own retirement prospects," he said.
The proposals include advice on how to make the most of company schemes and
a pledge to give workers more information on the delivery of pensions
forecasts.
