Lancashire
Police is building closer ties with the local community in a bid to encourage
more ethnic minorities to join the force.
The
Connecting Communities project is helping police officers develop closer
relationships with key members of the community and enablies them to make
information about a career in the police more accessible.
The
police force is also running special recruitment events and providing advice
and guidance to those considering taking up a career with the force.

The
joint scheme, run in conjunction with the Lancashire Council of Mosques, is
currently being independently assessed by market research company CI to
evaluate its effectiveness.
