The
Department for Work and Pensions has set up a diversity team to promote the
employment of disabled people.
There
are more than a million disabled people in the UK who want to work but cannot
find employment.
The
diversity team will form part of the Jobcentre Plus sales team.
A
guide for employers, The Knowledge – Disability Solutions for Employers, has
also been published.
The
UK will save £5bn a year if 500,000 people come off benefits.
