The
RMT union is demanding London Underground (LUL) supply frontline staff with
training and emergency breathing apparatus to protect them from potential
terrorist attacks.
The
calls come after reports that police have foiled a planned poison-gas attack on
London Underground or Gatwick Airport.
The
union said LUL bosses were being "recklessly complacent", and claims
that all possible contingency plans were in place and staff were fully trained
for all eventualities were "simply untrue".

RMT
general secretary Bob Crow said: "We are no longer asking LUL to supply
frontline staff with breathing apparatus and the relevant training, we are
demanding it."
