A new integrated payroll and HR system is helping independent retailer Williams & Griffin adapt to major change in its business.
Head of personnel John Hartwell said the firm decided to implement a computer based payroll and HR system so the function wouldn’t be overwhelmed by administration generated by rapid expansion.
The growth of the Colchester-based firm has seen its workforce rise to 300 and the rapid change started to put strain on its small HR team, made up of just three full-time staff. During the past year the family-owned firm has seen profits leap by 11 per cent to £18.5m.
“The new system allows HR to concentrate on the creative rather than the administrative aspect of our role,” he said.
Designed by Intellect, the system is being installed over the next two months and will allow the firm to streamline its payroll and HR function so inputting staff data is kept to a minimum.
