The RMT union, which is already locked in talks with Network Rail over safety standards and staffing levels, has asked London Underground to remove the threat of cutting 800 staff and closing ticket offices.
If assurances by the employer are not received by 5pm today (Thursday), the union has warned that it will hold a strike ballot.
