Third of employers risk e-mail abuse

Nearly
one third of companies do not have a formal e-mail usage policy, according to a
new survey.

The
survey, by VNU and software company Legato Systems, finds that 32 per cent of
employers do not have a formal policy and 36 per cent have sought legal advice
on e-mail compliance issues.

survey, of 273 organisations from a variety of industry sectors, also reveals
that 68 per cent do not train employees in complying with e-mail policy.
