Workers
on a North East train network are threatening strike action following a row
over pay and conditions.
Staff
on the Newcastle Metro system are also unhappy about a new job evaluation
scheme linked to performance related pay, according to reports.
Nexus,
the company that operates the Metro system, also wants to extend drug and
alcohol tests that are currently restricted to safety critical staff, to all
1,050 employees.
However,
the pay scheme has been rejected by Unison members, who believe service
conditions will be eroded.
