New
research into leadership skills has revealed an intriguing geographical split
across the UK when it comes to naming the greatest public leader of all time.
The
research, conducted by communications consultancy Mentor, asked 1,000 UK
employees which public figures have the best leadership qualities in terms of
motivating and inspiring others.
The
results show Richard Branson as the favourite in the South, while Winston
Churchill comes out on top in the North.
Magnus
Carter, director of Mentor, said: “It’s difficult to say why there is such a
strong split between North and South, but probably the strongest common bond is
the ability to overcome adversity or perform beyond expectations.”
