A
go-slow protest on London Underground has been re-scheduled to avoid clashing
with the England rugby squad’s London victory parade.
The
protests over safety on the Tube will now take place on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday
10 December, according to the RMT union.
The
union is demanding maintenance work be given back to London Underground
following two derailments.
“Our
intention is not to interfere with the public’s celebrations of the rugby
squad’s achievement, but to secure a safer Tube system for everyone who uses or
works on it,” said RMT general secretary Bob Crow.
