eLearning Network provides advice on prospering in the downturn

This year’s Learning Technologies event, being held in London’s Olympia, sees the eLearning Network (eLN) – a non-profit organisation run by the e-learning community for the e-learning community – reveal the ‘hot topics’ in e-learning for 2009.

This is in addition to the eLN’s chairman, Clive Shepherd, leading a seminar on a current hot topic: ‘Ten ways to thrive in an economic downturn’.

In this seminar, which takes place in ‘Theatre 3’ from 2.45pm on Wednesday 28th January, Shepherd provides ten highly practical tips to help delegates take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves in any situation – however bleak it may appear at first glance.

At its stand (stand number 76) at the Learning Technologies exhibition, some of the eLN’s 1,500 current members will be on hand to explain the social networking benefits of joining the eLN – either as an associate member or as one of its four levels of full membership.

They will also be revealing the eLN’s ‘hot topics’ in e-learning for 2009 – each one of which forms the theme of an eLN conference.

The eLN’s conferences – held regularly throughout the year at Holborn Bars in London – along with its various topical webinars, focus on the current key topics in e-learning.

These are:

Making the case for e-learning (27th February) – how to convince a business’ stakeholders by aligning e-learning to the business’ strategy, evaluating success and measuring the return on investment.

Creating engaging and effective learning content (8th May) – how to ensure that the content of e-learning programmes engage and inspire learners.

New models for learning management (25th September) – an exploration of the increasing variety of platforms available to support different aspects of learning and development, including content management, talent management, performance management and social networking.

Next generation blended learning (20th November) – how blended learning has evolved from ‘content plus classroom’ to integrate formal and informal learning methods.

In addition, on 10th July, the eLN will be holding its annual ‘Members’ Showcase’ of the latest e-learning technologies and applications.
