Reuters HR chief Stephen Dando takes chief human resources officer role at Thomson-Reuters following takeover by Canadian information provider

Reuters HR boss Stephen Dando is to head the human resources function at the newly formed Thomson-Reuters company following the £8.7bn takeover of the Reuters information empire earlier this month.

Dando becomes chief human resources officer of the new company, which will have annual revenues of about $12bn and just under 49,000 employees.

He joined Reuters in April 2006 following five years at the BBC as director of people.

He oversaw a period of change at the corporation, including brokering a £100m HR outsourcing deal with provider Capita and dealing with about 4,000 job losses.

Previously he worked for drinks giant Diageo.
