Too few women make it to the top

Of senior administrators, 19 per cent are women, as are 29 per cent of middle administrators or managers.

But 38 per cent of public appointments, which includes elected officers, are women. Nearly half, 46 per cent, of junior administrators or managers are women and 33 per cent are advisory board members.

Opportunity Now’s Benchmarking Report 2000 also found women are under-represented in the private sector.
