A social worker who warned ministers of failings in Haringey Council’s children’s services is to sue the council.
Nevres Kemal expressed her initial concerns in February 2007, five months before the death of Baby P.
She later claimed that she was forced out of her job a month later, and has already settled a case of racial discrimination with the council, according to the Haringey Independent.
But Kemal is now suing Haringey Council for refusing to interview her for a position she applied for during its national recruitment campaign in April 2009.

She says that the refusal to interview her is a snub, and that the council is victimising her.
Haringey Council lawyers made an attempt to have the case struck out at Watford Employment Tribunal, but the court ruled she had an “arguable case.”
