Laptop computers containing the payroll details of half of the Metropolitan Police staff have been stolen.
Scotland Yard has confirmed the computers were taken in a raid last on the offices of Logica CMG in Southwark, south-east London, the firm responsible for the Met’s pay and pension services.
The three laptops contained details of the Metropolitan Police payroll.

A spokesman said there was “minimal” risk of the staff involved falling victim to fraud or identity theft.
One man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the burglary.
