British workers are a bunch of environmental Jekyll and Hydes, who conscientiously watch how green they are at home, but abandon their principles when they get to work.

A survey of almost 2,000 people, carried out on behalf of the government-funded consultancy Envirowise, found that while 70% of people took steps to be environmentally friendly at home, less than one-third did so in the workplace.
Professor Toby Wall, director of the Institute of Work Psychology, said the results were a symptom of pressurised workplaces, where there is too little time or encouragement to take action on waste.
