Construction firm Balfour Beatty and Tesco Dotcom, an online grocery business, have won Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) health and safety awards.
Balfour Beatty Construction Scottish and Southern, based in Edinburgh, won the Sir George Earle Trophy at this year’s RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards in May.
Tesco Dotcom won the Managing Occupational Road Risk trophy for the third consecutive year.
Balfour Beatty was particularly lauded for its goal of “zero harm” by 2012, and by the “strong and creative” approach developed by its senior management team.
Tesco Dotcom, meanwhile, was applauded for its “exemplary system” for managing occupational road risk.
